Borgo Faveri Bianco

Perlage

Perlage has delivered something very special in the Borgo Faveri white: a biodynamic wine of intrigue and pleasure that drinks rich but only packs 11.5% alcohol. At first redolent of a great Rhône white, this wine opens up into Campania’s stamp of melon. The aroma is broader and more intense than the gentle alcohol content would suggest, giving waxy and rich in red apple and honeydew, decorated with apple blossoms and dried flowers and a touch of sandalwood. The palate is also waxy and broad with a gorgeous round mouthfeel. The finish also belies the price point, giving anjou pear, red apple, and more of those waxy apple skins. This vineyard sits in rich clays and is trained in the old-school Tendone system with vines over 20 years old and a living soil beneath your feet. If more producers could scale this kind of farming with these kinds of results and deliver this kind of value, viticulture could be a guide the way for agriculture as a whole to rebuild the planet's arable soils.
