Wildwux

Birgit Braunstein

A juicy, oak-framed blend of bright Zweigelt, opulent Merlot, and spicy Blaufränkisch. Macerated for 21 days and aged in top quality french barriques for 15 months for a richer style that nevertheless delivers on that classic Austrian minerality and textured acidity. A lively nose of currants, blackberry leaf, cranberry, blueberry, roasted chestnut, and an almost pecan pie like note unfold from the glass, a comforting. The palate is a balance of rich, bright, beautifully structured fruit atop a round, velvety texture and a pronounced spiciness. Braised lamb and herbs or any hearty braised dish will be warmly welcomed by a bottle of Wildwux.
