2019 Côtes de Bourg AOC Tête de Cuvée

Château la Grolet

The Tête de Cuvée from Château la Grolet is an annual selection of their best sites and best barriques to create the finest expression of their terroir, aged longer and released later. This vintage offers effusive notes of tonka Bean, chestnut purée, vanilla blossom, sandalwood, and blackberry leaf over a fruit core of black currant and sloe berries, supported by powdery tannins of an almost cosmetic texture giving structure to the lush fruit and racy acidity that make this wine such a pleasure with an array of dishes. Drink now or age another 10-15 years. A beautiful picture of great farming and classical winemaking.
