Passerina

Chiusa Grande

An indigenous varietal of Marche and Abruzzo, Passerina is an addictive wine, a beauty hiding in the middle of the white wine spectrum. It’s gently floral character of lily and apple blossom is perched over a core of fresh apple and pear and white peach notes. The palate offers this food perfect, delicately balanced abundance of fresh, crisp pear and red apple supported by that signature Italian almond like note so many white varieties of the peninsula enjoy. This wine is a touch more textural than one might expect for an Italian white at this price, enjoying 24 hours of skin contact before being racked to ferment. This wine is lovely with white fish, mild cheeses, and anything else that suits a sunny day, al fresco. Classical for its country of origin but universal in it’s drinkability.
